Chun Yan
(Kim) Hilyard
Born in China, Chun
Yan was raised in a family that had a deep appreciation for the
arts. Her father, a well respected watercolor artist was a great
inspiration for her and encouraged her to develop her abilities as an
artist. (see paintings by Pei-Ke Chai, Chun
Yans Father)
Working mainly in pastels and oils, Chun Yan employs her classically
trained drawing skills along with her unique sense of composition and
color to create stunningly beautiful still lifes, landscapes and
portraits. Fresh clean color as well as a keen focus on the
emotion of the subject matter are the hallmarks of Chun Yan's work.
In China, Chun Yan attended college and earned her Art degree. Her
art was shown at China's Five State Fine Art Exhibit and later was
accepted as part of the permanent Collection at Ning Xia College. She now
resides with her family in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey and is a
member of the Ocean City Fine Arts League.
Chun Yan's art has been exhibited locally at the Ocean City Art Center
and the Ocean City Fine Arts League.
